VET dairy resource community of practice
Hello Everyone,
Hoping you are having a good week and for those in NSW, have managed through what has been a challenging week with the rain.
Over the past few months, Dairy Australia has been working to develop a dairy resource community of practice platform. This platform have several purposes including providing educators such as yourselves with an easy one stop shop point of access for Dairy Australia technical resources. The platform is being built in Enlight and as such, we are also including a discussion forum where educators can share teaching practice and how they use dairy resources in their teaching.
The project is currently in a build phase and we would like to invite yourselves as trainers to review the first mock up of the platform. You can access the platform via this link
https://dairy2.test.pukunui.net/course/view.php?id=113
You will notice the platform includes the following components:
- Welcome tile
- Resource topic areas
- Community of practice and collaboration space
At this stage, we invite you to review the following components listed below. The remainder of the platform will then be developed based on your feedback.
1. Welcome tile
2. Animals topic tile
We welcome feedback you may have which enhances the functionality and usability of this platform for supporting your teaching practice, in particular navigability, ease of access and the categorisation of resources.
Please provide feedback by responding to this discussion post.
Feedback will close next Friday 2nd April and we hope to make the tool available to you toward the end of April.
Many thanks in advance for your contribution,
Kind regards,
April
Hello April,
I have had a look around the site and agree it will be a magnificent resource all in one place.
The next challenge is to keep it up to date.
The headings and sections look logical and comprehensive.
If I have to find one thing I don't like is the watering can image.
I do like the font size and style its better than the PD font style.

Looking at this first mock up, I think the navigation is easy and will have an extensive list of industry resources.
I have two questions for the facilitators regarding community practice :
- Would it be beneficial to receive notifications on new topic related resources, learning materials or learning opportunities, when they arise? and
- How likely are you to reach out to an online forum to ask other facilitators about their teaching practice using these resources for teaching a particular unit of competency?
Otherwise I think it looks great!
Thanks
Jenny Cook
I reallly like the layout and the settings in the community of practice.
I am accessing the platform via my phone and whilst it took a little while to find, mainly due to the menu sitting over the top of the content, once I did get to it it was very easy and logical to navigate
I agree that keeping it updated and current is something that is imperative If it’s to remain a valuable resource.
I like the idea of notifications when something is added or updated.
Lucy
Many thanks in advance for taking the time to review!
Regards,
April
